A real estate story: Reunited through a chance relocation between a nurse and a real estate agent

Do you believe there are truly six degrees of separation? Last week I received an invitation from a Facebook associate to join another social experiment based on this theory. And recently Abbie Platt, an Account Manager at Profile Referral Systems, relayed a success story to me - a true story of a reunion instigated through a chance relocation.

Coincidence, fate or just another link in the six-degree chain? This is a true story, a real estate story of a real estate agent and a nurse who were reunited through a chance relocation

Abbie was referred a special client, who was the daughter of one of Profile Referral Systems’ regular recruiters. The client was a nurse and worked late-night shifts. Finding a safe neighborhood was a concern for her.

Abbie interviewed four agents and found one who was, hands down, a perfect match for her.

Abbie introduced the best-matched real estate agent to the nurse and waited a few days to give them time to communicate. She followed up to ensure the candidate was happy with the real estate agent selected. She also contacted the real estate agent to confirm that she had provided the correct information regarding what the nurse was looking for.

When Abbie reached the real estate agent, she had a story to share that still brings tears to Abbie’s eyes.
It turns out Abbie’s matchmaking resulted in a “reunion” for the real estate agent. A few years before, the real estate agent’s son had been in the hospital and did not make it. The same candidate that Abbie had placed the real estate agent with had been one of the nurses on duty when this real estate agent’s son passed away.

This nurse had been instrumental in talking with the family about organ donation and how her son could live on in others and save many more lives.
The real estate agent told Abbie the nurse was very compassionate, professional and such a sweet “kid.” She then said she always gives customers top-notch service, but for this “kid” she would clear her schedule always and go to the moon if need be.

The real estate agent also had a chance to meet the candidate’s parents (her father is the recruiter) and said she can see now why the candidate turned out so well because she was raised by wonderful people.

She will never forget how caring the nurse was when she had to face tough decisions regarding her son. She was so happy to take the candidate under her wing and help her find her dream home. It was a touching story from beginning to end. The agent ended up finding the candidate a new home for a great deal.

Ironically, the name of the road was “Inspirational Drive.”
Real estate may be an important financial business … but more importantly, it is the business of real people building relationships and making dreams come true.
