Surfing through the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009″
Whew, what a ride it has been! I’ve been trying to educate myself about the stimulus package that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner announced this week. The House of Representatives and the Senate have passed identical versions of a stimulus bill, which President Barack Obama is expected to sign Tuesday.
Rather than trying to sort out all of the information, and rehashing responses/opinions in my blog, I offer the following websites for your perusing:
- The House-proposed Stimulus Bill
- The Senate-proposed Stimulus Bill
- The New York Times Editorials: The Bailout’s Next Chapter, Trillion Dollar Baby and Bailout Plan: $2.5 Trillion and a Strong U.S. Hand
- Other Sources: Robert Reich’s Blog, AlterNet, Understanding Government Blog and Yahoo! News
This in no way begins to cover the amount of verbiage that’s been written about this package, but it will give you a place to begin. Good luck! And here’s hoping for the best for all American citizens.
