Where in the world are the most livable cities?
The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) is the “world’s foremost provider of country, industry and management analysis. For over 60 years, the EIU has delivered vital business intelligence to influential decision-makers around the world.”
Each year the EIU ranks 140 cities, worldwide, on liveability.
Each city is given a score for more than 30 qualitative and quantitative factors across the following categories:
- Stability
- Healthcare
- Culture and environment
- Education
- Infrastructure
Cities are rated in a range from 1 to 100, where 1 is considered intolerable and 100 is consider ideal.
The following are EIU’s 2010 Top 10 Most Livable Cities:
- Vancouver, British Columbia
- Vienna, Austria
- Melbourne, Australia
- Toronto, Ontario
- Calgary, Alberta
- Helsinki, Finland
- Sydney, Australia
