Thanks for your comments Jay. You are right. Painting can change the whole complexion of a room and may actually make old things look new. We've been saying it for years here in Mid-Michigan, "Go Green!"

Painting is definitely one of the cheapest forms of home improvement and one that even if you mess up won't cause too much damage. ALWAYS choose the more "green" paint. Considering it costs just about as much as regular, it's a no-brainer.

One of the best eco friendly paints on the market is an independent company called ECOtrend Collagen Natural Interior Paint. I found their paint on www.greenguard.org. Their paint is a healthy alternative to chemical based paints. They use natural ingredients and the paint naturally repels mold and mildew. Which is a huge culprit for poor indoor air quality, especially if you live in a damp climate. The one thing that I loved about this paint was that I could paint my 5 year old daughter's room and she was able to sleep in her room that night. The paint is odorless and because it is certified by GREENGUARD Children and Schools it has the lowest emissions of any paint on the market. <.22.

I have a 4-plex - located in Garden Grove, CA, that I can't keep rented. I do have a loan mod (effective March 09)for 4 more yars. It took over a year of me calling them on a monthly basis before they would even talk to me. I had to miss at least 1 payment-- now my credit is ruined from an A to a D. Unfortunately, we stated this too late--I need more help stating a year sooner. I've used up my retirement, my savings and I'm still behind in payments. The mortgage is serviced by GMAC (very difficut to deal with) Where can I get the help needed so it doesn't go into foreclosure? I live here and I want to keep the property, but I'm unanble to collect enough rent to cover the payments. HELP! My phone number is toll-free 866-849-2362.
