Charleston, SC Real Estate Agent Shirley Phillips Exudes Energy!
Within moments of talking with Shirley Phillips you know you’re in for a high energy conversation. Shirley is not one to stand still for too long. She describes herself as a “Social Critter.” Self appointed “Office Social Director,” Shirley has a large circle of friends, both in and out of the real estate business.
Group outings are particularly attractive to Shirley and her friends. The more the merrier, as they say! One of her groups holds season tickets to a few local theatres. At this writing, she has a canoeing trip planned for next month with twenty of her office collegues. They plan to spend a day canoeing on the Ashley River.
Next month a group of forty of Shirley’s pals will spend an evening walking a Charleston “Ghost Walk.” Because their group is so large they will have their own personal docent, guiding them through the most infamous and haunted streets, back alleys, dungeons, historical homes, and cemetaries around Charleston. Patrons learn who died where, and what pirate absconded with what wench. A virtual Historical Soap Opera. Shirley feels blessed to be living in such a “wonderful part of the country.” She told me, “If you’re bored, and you’re living in Charleston, well, it’s your own fault.” And I’d say, that if you’re fortunate enough to know or work with Shirley Phillips, there’s no way you’d ever be bored.
Other personal interests of Shirley’s are cooking. “I love to cook,” she said. Considering herself a “little old-fashioned,” she puts-up her own jams, jellies and relishes. She loves to fish, both fresh water and off-shore. She stocks her freezer with her best catches. Another testimony to her love for cooking is each Christmas Eve, she prepares an extraordinary dinner for forty of her friends.
Another labor of love is running marathons. Over the past ten years she’s run three marathons in the fight against Leukemia, one of which was in Ireland. In March of 1998, Shirley lost her youngest daughter to Hodgekins Disease. In December of that same year, she ran her first marathon. Shirley said that as she runs, her daughter’s spirit is, “The wind beneath my wings.” What a motivation!
There is no idleness in Shirley’s life. To quote her, “We have but one life, and by golly, I’m going to live it.” Her daughter and real estate assistant of twelve years, Debra said, “Shirley’s energy makes me tired.” Shirley values greatly Debra’s work and support, and says she keeps her on track as a Realtor and a mom.
Shirley feels fortunate to be working for a great realty company. Each year the company rewards its top producers with a trip. When doing this travelling, Shirley tries to tack-on a few extra days on her own to learn and explore new locations. She’s visited Jamaica, Bermuda, San Francisco and Paris, to name just a few places.
As a Realtor, Shirley is true to her nature, giving her all for a client, to produce the best possible outcome for everyone. Allow her to channel her energy for your benefit.
